Raggy Charters

Raggy Charters is a licensed boat-based Whale Watching permit holder and now also has a permit for Shark Cage Diving in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.  As far as we are aware Raggy Charters is the oldest Marine Eco Tour Company combined with a conservation project  (Baywatch Marine Conservation Project) in Africa – started in 1992 by Lloyd Edwards. Inter alia, the objectives are to educate the community and especially the youth about the marine environment and the need for its protection and conservation, assisting in marine law enforcement as honorary conservators, assisting scientists in their marine research and carrying out our own marine research.

Funds generated from Whale watching boat cruises, African penguin boat cruises and other marine eco-tours with Raggy Charters are used to fund the various ongoing Baywatch Marine Conservation Projects.  https://www.raggycharters.co.za/

The most amazing marine life can be found in the Algoa Bay, also known as the Bottlenose Dolphin Capital of the World, this was an initiative of Raggy Charters in 2016.  https://www.raggycharters.co.za/article/algoa-bay-is-bottlenose-dolphin-capital-of-the-world
