Aspiring Whale Heritage Areas

When an application has passed the first stages (signing the Wildlife Heritage Area guiding principles and submitting basic information about the area), then it becomes an Aspiring Whale Heritage Area.

From this stage, the application can proceed to become a Candidate Whale Heritage Area and then a fully designated Whale Heritage Area. Find out more about the application process here!

Currently, there are only Candidate and designated Whale Heritage Areas. When Aspiring Whale Heritage Areas join the programme, they will be listed here.
