The WCA partner ‘Equipe Quiétude’ of CEDTM in Reunion Island is in charge of promoting respectful and sustainable whale-watching conditions.

In order to support their whale-watching operators in improving the experience offered to clients and their awareness program onboard, the team has designed a new guide entitled: “Observing and understanding humpback whale behaviours”.

Have a quick look! https://cedtm-asso.org/quietude/le-guide-des-comportements-de-baleines/

The guide includes the main behaviours observed, their description and an interpretation proposition.

It will be given to the operators involved in the process. The document will be available to clients on board vessels, in a solid and waterproof format, to make themselves actors of the observations and to help them better understand the behaviour of humpback whales.

This version is in French and may be available in other languages in the future!
