This October, coinciding with the presentation of the new Charter of Sustainability for Whale and Dolphin Watching by the Cabildo de Tenerife (the Island Council of Tenerife – the governing body of the island), WCA Partner White Tenerife participated in the release of a number of marine turtles.
All of the turtles had been rescued and treated for injuries or illnesses by the La Tahonilla Wildlife Recovery Centre.
Now the turtles have recovered and have been released back into the ocean. Good news for the recovery of this amazing group of marine animals in the daily struggle against their disappearance and decline.
They may not be cetaceans but remain an important part of our marine fauna and ecosystem.
