WCA CEO, Dylan Walker was in London last week to meet with Virgin Holidays. The aim of the meeting was to continue to encouraging improvement in responsible whale watching standards among the companies Virgin Holidays work with, including companies in a number of new destinations. The WCA will be in conversation and working with as many partners as possible over the coming months to work together on this exciting project.
Over the next two years, the WCA will be running three workshops in the destinations where we feel we can make the most improvements for responsible whale watching. These three destinations will be: Mauritius, the Florida Keys and St. Lucia. This will be a great opportunity for the WCA to meet not only with new stakeholders in the whale watching industry, but also government representatives and NGOs working in those areas with whale watching. This will hopefully provide positive outcomes in terms of education provided on such boats.
