“No other organization on the planet doing what the WCA is doing: collaborating with nearly 100 Partners in over 35 countries!”
The World Cetacean Alliance Partnership is a powerful network of experts from conservation, campaigning and across the whale watching industry.
Our Partners have shared their experiences and knowledge throughout the partnership and beyond helping others grow and informing the wider industries to set standards.
The biennial World Whale Conference is the prime opportunity to bring together the Partners too.
The June 2017 World Whale Conference and Whale Heritage Sites Summit, sponsored by Virgin Holidays and hosted by the Durban KwaZulu-Natal Convention Bureau and eThekwini Municipality has recently finished with some important outcomes. Focused on promoting responsible whale and dolphin watching tourism, the conference united NGO’s, the whale watching industry, as well as travel and tourism companies focused on sustainable tourism and marine conservation. Delegates heard from speakers, and discussed and shared evidence to better understand how we can improve and ensure the protection of whales and dolphins in southern Africa and worldwide, whilst developing sustainable tourism.
“Being at the World Whale Conference in Durban was an incredible experience to witness and be part of a global community of stakeholders spanning across NGOs, tour operators, conservationists, scientists, citizens, students, all coming together to share, to learn, to contribute and to work together in the interest of protecting cetaceans. A truly inspirational forum in which all voices were heard. to the World Cetacean Alliance, thank you for your brilliant work!”
