WhaleTime has now selected a MSc student to conduct research on the east coast humpback whale catalogue. She will be working alongside Boat-based Whale Watching operators here in Durban to create, collate and curate the first east coast fluke catalogue. We’re very excited about this partnership and the research that comes with it.

WhaleTime is also working with Professor Ken Findlay to conduct the next whale monitoring census in Cape Vidal later this month. It has been 16 years since the last humpback whale census and so it’s definitely time for the next one. We hope to turn this census into an annual study.
